Love, Claudine Humure
Claudine Humure is an amazing young lady from
Rwanda and former patient of Ellison 18. Unable to obtain the appropriate
treatment in Rwanda, Claudine traveled to the United States and
was admitted to MGHfC. When she first arrived she did not know any
English. However, during her ten month stay, she made incredible
strives with the language. Claudine stole the hearts of everyone
in the hospital, quickly becoming part of the MGHfC family.
Dear Angels Above,
Angels Above had the perfect remedy for me. Whenever I was sick Angels Above always made me feel special with crafts, snacks and surprises. Even after chemotherapy ended, they were still making me happy. When I was craving beef teriyaki and they didn’t have anything else, the playroom staff would order it for me at Shangra Lai because my Mom was staying with me and couldn’t work, so it was such a great treat. When I was rushed to the hospital Christmas Eve through the middle of January, they brightened my long length of stay with presents and crafts. At the end of my one year of chemotherapy treatment for osteosarcoma, Angels Above and the playroom at MGHfC gave me an “End of Chemo” party. I want to thank Sue, Marybeth and the Angels Above staff for all their hard work and dedication to the children at MGHfC.

Dear Angels Above,
Our son, Danny Dowling, was born on March 22, 2005 with a rare digestive
disease called Hirschsprung's Disease. In 2005 he was hospitalized
at MGH for a total of 30 days throughout the year. We cannot tell
you enough how much your charity made Danny's stay more bearable.
I was so touched by the generosity and kindness of the care baskets,
toys, snacks, the mobile for his crib, stroller, rockingchair -
all of it we used on a daily basis. It is so hard to keep a baby
occupied while connected to so many IVs and stuck in a crib --but
your toys helped make the days easier. I hope Susan Horman can find
some peace in knowing that out of her daughter's passing came an
unbelievable gift to parents and children who are going through
the toughest time of their lives. We hope and pray that Danny will
not need any more surgeries- but if he does at least I can be assured
that there will be some comforts thanks to your charity. Thank you
again. Please except this donation in honor of Danny's 1st birthday.
We asked relatives to do the same. God Bless!
Amy, Mark, Halle, Sean, & Daniel Dowling
